

Marjorie Louise "Margie) Hirschinger (94) of Indianapolis, IN unexpectedly passed away on February 27, 2025. She was born June 27, 1930 and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, had a long retirement in Englewood and Leesburg, Florida, and spent her last two years in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Margie is survived by her children, Marcia A. Soder, DDS (Neal) of Brownsburg, IN and Thomas L. Hirschinger (Susan) of Orleans, IN.e She was also blessed with grandchildren Katelyn M. Lucas, OD, FAAO (Paul), David A. Soder (Caitlyn) of Brownsburg, IN, Brooke V. Freire (Rodrigo) of Chicago, IL and great grandchild Adelaide M. Lucas of Brownsburg, IN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including JC, John and Jerry Hirschinger, Lisa Varella, Scott Hirschinger, JR Rohrman, Rhonda (Rohrman) Isabell, Randall Rohrman, Shelly Rohrman and Rich Rohrman. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Olivia (Baudendistal) Relander, her husband George Edwin (Ed) Hirschinger, her sister Shirley E. Relander of Lafayette, and her brother in laws James and Lyle Hirschinger of Lafayette, IN.
Margie was a graduate of St. Francis High School in Lafayette, IN. She was a 'stay at home' mother for the early years, taught organ lessons and then worked at Hershey Elementary in Lafayette, IN as a remedial reading teacher. Later she became a purchasing agent at Fairfield Manufacturing and retired to Englewood, Florida. She spent 34 years of retirement in the Sunshine State teaching adult tap and hulu dancing, harmonica and ukulele lessons. She organized the Pocket Fuzz and The Happy Tappers and performed many years with a great group of women while donating all proceeds to Meals on Wheels. She received her great musical and art talent from her father Louie Relander. She also liked sewing, painting (watercoloring her own greeting cards), ice skating, knitting, quilling, drawing caricatures and many other arts.
She was a wonderful, caring, giving person spreading cheer and humor amongst all.
She will be laid to rest with Ed, her husband, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida where he is laid to rest with WWII Military Honors.
