

92, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 19, 2016, the daughter of George F and Ruth (Williams) Kirkhoff. She was a member of both St. Matthew Catholic Church and St. Pius Catholic Church. Martha and her husband, Jim, raised their 6 children in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. They were both actively involved in many organizations in the parishes where they were members. Martha enjoyed participating with the Hardee’s Breakfast Group after daily Mass at St. Matthew Church. And she loved Wednesday night dinners with the “oldies”, her faith sharing group and her bridge buddies. Martha is survived by her children Carolyn T. (Wesley H. Jr.) Bickers, Mark D. (Linda), Gregory J. (Linda), Thomas J. (Janay), Patrick A. (Carole), Philip A. Commons, 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother George F. (Marianne) Kirkhoff II. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James W. Commons, in March of 1999 and her brother Paul Kirkhoff MD. Visitation will be Thursday, April 21 from 4 to 8 pm Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 22 at 10 am at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Memorials in Martha’s name may be made to the James W.
