

81, of Indianapolis, passed away May 22, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Martin was born January 25, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN the son of the late Frank and Virginia Moore. He was a history teacher at North Central High School for 30 years as well as a local and international philanthropist through The Moore Foundation. The Moore Foundation contributed to the education, social improvement and capitalistic values locally, nationally and internationally for over 50 years. Martin received the Sagamore of the Wabash, and founded numerous organizations including Family Foundation Forum, Barnabas Fund and Youth Philanthropy Initiative. Martin was a former board member of Starfish Initiative, Forest Manor Multi Service Center and Building Tomorrow. Martin also lived and taught at Starehe Boy’s Center in Nairobi, Kenya. He was a founding member of AMPATH in cooperation with Indiana University in Kenya and founded Servant Leadership Program in 55 universities throughout the U.S. He produced and distributed the documentary film “Auschwitz: If You Cried You Died” to every middle school and high school in the U.S. Martin is survived by his wife: Susan Moore, sons: Mark (Colleen), Michael (Dede), Matthew (Kris), Joshua (Lourdes) and Zachary (Denise) Moore and 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary.
