I met Rick when I came on the Marion County Sheriff's Department in 1978. He was always fun to talk to. He loved talking about golf, baseball and basketball. I worked the court line where Rick was assigned. He was always in a great mood and was fun to hang out with. Rest in peace brother.

May God rest your Soul , Rick. You were one of the really “good guys” and did a great job, especially working in the narcotics division. I , personally, never worked in narcotics but you and the others assigned there , always did a great job. We crossed paths several times, as I was assigned to major crimes detectives. I pray for comfort for your family, at this devastating time in their lives. R.I.P. my brother LEO.

My condolences to Rick's family. I had not seen Rick in years, but I do remember him from when he was working the Court Line many years ago.

We as a family are so sorry Rick had to go thru what he did. Knowing he is out of pain is the only good thing. He was well adapted to our crazy family. He was good to everyone of us and we will miss him but remember his sense of humor and what a good person he was. God Bless my sister Judy and give her the strength to get thru everything she will be dealing with now that the love of her life is no longer physically there. sister in law Carolyn

When I was transferred to Narcotics in '76 Rick and Larry Woods were assigned to make a good undercover out of clueless ass. They did a good job,and we enjoyed every minute of our partnership. Rick always made it seem like an outing and not a job. Be serious when it was called for,and bust balls, and live life to the fullest the rest of the time. I'm so grateful to have had Rick as a friend. Rick,Schuyler, and Darrell Ball made a point to come see me when I
was fighting throat cancer a couple of years ago. Their visit picked me up more than they could ever know. Rick fought the Good Fight as he always has,and now he can rest. RIP my friend. Love You Brother!!
