Mary Ella Chowning-Hubbard

Mary Ella Chowning-Hubbard was born July 13, 1959 to Elmer L. Chowning and Hazel L. Evans in Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up in Indianapolis, she attended Indianapolis Public Schools and graduated from George Washington High School. After graduation, Mary attended Clark College to study dental assistance. Mary was baptized and united with Christ at an early age at the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Denmark, TN.

Throughout her adult career, Mary worked security at the Plainfield Department of corrections, and various other security companies. Mary was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Ben Hubbard III on January 8, 2013. Mary, affectionately known as (Babae), loved spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.

On Sunday, May 19, 2019, the Lord called Mary Ella from her labor to her reward at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 55 days.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ben Hubbard III, brother Rufus Lynn Chowning and stepfather Henry M. Evans, grandparents Hayes and Mary Perry and Elmer and Ella Chowning.

Mary leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one son Rufus L. Chowning, her mother Hazel Lee Evans, father Elmer Lafayette Chowning, sister Jackie Akers (David), four grandchildren Rufus Chowning-Whitmore, Kameron Chowning, Marion Chowning and Halee Chowning, one Aunt Betty Beasley, sisterly cousin's Marcus Reaves and Gertie Haynes, and special friends Derrick Johnson, Nancy Hill and Diane Doss and a host of extended family and friends.
