Mary Diane Condon, age 86, of Roswell, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020. Diane was born September 12, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mary (Bodenhamer) Brown and Reeves C. Brown. Diane grew up in Beech Grove and spent the vast majority of her life in Indiana, moving to Georgia in 2018 to be closer to her son.
Diane had four children by her first husband, Bob Vondersaar. After their divorce, she raised them as a single mother for ten years, sometimes working two jobs to support her family. One of the jobs was working for the US Postal Service where she was the first female letter carrier in Indiana. In 1970 she married the love of her life, Russell Condon. They enjoyed 38 wonderful years together before Russell’s passing in 2008.
Diane enjoyed sewing, quilting, photography, feeding birds in her fabulous back yard, and neighborhood sing-alongs where she played the organ. She was an avid cat lover.
Besides Russell, Diane was preceded in death by her parents, and by her son Tim Vondersaar.
Diane is survived by sons, Kevin Vondersaar (Toby) and Kipp Vondersaar; daughter, Keely Vondersaar; step-daughter, Karen Siemon (Hank); and step-son Dennis Condon. She is also survived by her brother, Neville Brown. Diane had 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She will be laid to rest privately at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
