Mary Anne Dunne (Berkowicz), age 54, died of cirrhosis of the liver and other long-term medical complications on December 30, 2015. She passed away at IU Methodist Hospital downtown Indianapolis at 2:20 a.m.
Mary was born on September 14, 1961 in Blue Island, Illinois. She graduated high school at Oak Forest High in Chicago, IL. and attended Moraine Valley College. She soon met her future spouse, Perry Dunne, while working at Wirtz Rentals Co. in Chicago, IL. She and Perry were married on March 2, 1986. She was a loving wife and became a loving mother to two daughters. She and her husband moved to their family home in Avon, Indiana circa 1989, where they set up their long-term life together.
Mary became ill with renal failure in 1996. During this time she also found out that she had breast cancer. After months of radiation, a lymphectomy, and a lumpectomy she won her battle with cancer. At the age of 18, her eldest daughter donated one of her kidneys to Mary, which helped her to live healthily for around 10 years.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, vacationing, volunteering at her children's schools, art, the beach, board games, puzzles, cooking, trying new things, laughing and socializing. Despite the hardships that she faced, Mary was always strong and
seemed to always endure. She was a wonderful and generous wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary will be greatly missed by everyone who's life that she touched. She will always be remembered for her positivity, generosity, and thoughtfulness.
Mary is survived by husband, Perry Dunne, daughters Tenille and Samantha Dunne, grandchildren Skigh, Elyse, Charlotte, Makoa, Tarek, Nola, and Evelyn, and sisters Beverly Beauchene and Cathy Obarski along with too many extended family members to list.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, January 9th, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Family Funeral Care on 5791 Rockville Road Indianapolis, IN. 46224 with a celebration of life dinner to follow.
