Mary "Cathy" Catherine Weaver

Mary Catherine "Cathy" Weaver 75, passed away on November 27, 2023, in the home of her sister after battling Bulbar ALS. Cathy spent most of her life residing in Henry County, with her most recent residence in New Castle.

Cathy was born to Joseph and Charlene (Cohee) in 1948. She graduated from Cadiz High School in 1966. Cathy was a phlebotomist at Ball Memorial Hospital, Lab Technician at Pathology Associates, Human Resources Assistant with the State of Indiana, Receptionist and Scheduler at Indiana Blood Center, and then became a retired homemaker.

Cathy loved thrift shopping, taking care of her outdoor flowers and plants in the spring, jigsaw puzzles, board games, playing bingo and euchre. She was an avid Indianapolis Colts and IU basketball fan. Cathy collected vintage China and tea sets.

She is survived by her son, Kerry (partner Jamie Kennitt) McMasters, Sulphur Springs IN; her daughter Kim (Chuck) Hurt, Sulphur Springs IN; stepson Jeff Weaver, Greenwood, IN. Grandchildren; Shaylee (Matt) Frier, Honey Creek, IN; Chelsea (Brandon) Brown, Sulphur Springs, IN; Dustin (partner Emily Gundy) Hurt, Middletown, IN; Alex McMasters, Bloomington, IN; Brittney Meyer (and children), Anderson, IN; Step-grandchildren; Jamie Weaver, Rachel Weaver, Jimmy Weaver Jr., Ashley Weaver and Amber Engle. Great-grandchildren: Kiyah Wilson, Gavin Hurt and Brice Feaster. Step-grandchildren Jimmy Weaver, Indianapolis, IN; Siblings; Donald (Laura) Highmiller, Palm Bay, FL; Michael (Debra) Highmiller, New Castle, IN; Jennifer Cutsinger, Mechanicsburg, IN and Debbie Jones, Melbourne, FL. Cousin Jeff (Angie) Crow, New Lisbon, IN, several nieces, nephews and distant cousins.

Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Weaver; Father Joseph Highmiller; Mother Charlene Shirkey, Brother Jody Highmiller and stepson Jimmy Weaver.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Cadiz Community Building, in Cadiz, IN, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m., to share stories about Cathy's life.

Burial of both Cathy and Nick will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN at a later date.
