Mary Elizabeth Young

Mary E. Young was born April 8, 1925, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Johnnie & Nora Jackson. She was the second oldest of 6 children. She attended school at Crispus Attucks. She worked for RCA and retired in May 1988. Sister Young met and married James H. Young. Sister Mary accepted Christ in 1965, she was an active member of Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church where she loved Sunday School. She was an active member of the usher board, Altar Workers/Baptismal Committee, Kitchen staff, Prayer Band, Sisterhood Auxiliary, Sunday School Department and willing Workers Committee. Sister Young was the recipient of the Senior Citizen Awards and Sunday School Dept. Sister Mary Young was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend to many. Sister Young will be greatly missed by her family, church family and a host of others. Mother Mary Young leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Marlenea Johnson, Alicia Young, sons Lamont Johnson and James Young, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
