Maryann M Ertel

97, died in the early morning hours of Wednesday April 15 with her granddaughter, Mary, and grandson-in-law, Sean, by her side. She died peacefully. She joins her husband, John Charles Ertel III. She is survived by three children, John Charles Ertel IV (Joyce), Larry Ertel, and Sarah Hensley (Tom, deceased). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Sylvia Ertel (Sunil Gollapudi), Nathan Ertel (Logan), Chad Ertel, Larry Ertel Jr. (Gina Lang), and Mary Hensley (Sean Moriarty). She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

She lived in Indiana all her life. She also had a home in Marco Island, Florida that she would visit as often as possible. She graduated from Shortridge H.S., and went on to Butler Univ. where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

She was a member of Meridian Hills Country Club for many years where she enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge group. She enjoyed flying and later received her pilots license. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at various organizations including the Little Red Door and Orchard School. She loved doing different arts and crafts which showcased how creative and talented she was.

She loved her family and spending time with them. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a gentle soul, an angel on this earth.
