Mattie B. Frazier

Mattie B. Frazier went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2020. She was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee to Robert Thompson and Georgia Grizzard Thompson on September 30, 1920. Mattie attended public school in Shelbyville. She continued her education at Crispus Attucks High School after moving to Indianapolis, Indiana. Mattie was united in holy matrimony to James Frazier in 1946, and together they raised their daughter, Dolores. James preceded Mattie in death in 1972.

Mattie was employed as a domestic engineer during the 1940's. She then worked for H.P. Wasson and L.S. Ayres department stores. Later, Mattie worked for Wishard Memorial Hospital as a seamstress retiring in 1984. Mattie had exceptional sewing skills designing and tailoring many of her own fashions.

She was a devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Mattie leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Dolores C. Tompkins; grandchildren, Michael Tompkins (Stephanie) and Leslie E. Allen (Terry); great grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Tompkins, Kwynn and Krystal Allen; and great-great grandchildren, Jayden and Liam Tompkins. She also leaves a cousin, Shirley Snider of Louisville, Kentucky and a host of great nieces and nephews.
