Maxine Monica (Ziehr) Purol

Maxine Monica (Ziehr) Purol, age 93 of Carmel, Indiana departed this life on December 31, 2022. She was born April 9, 1929 to John George and Rozalia Veronica (Weiss) Ziehr in Detroit, Michigan. Maxine received her masters degree in teaching from Wayne State University, and was a substitute teacher in Michigan, Illinois and Indiana before retiring in 1994. She is a former member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Louis James Purol, and her 4 siblings, George John Ziehr, Helen Margaret (Ziehr) Ware, Rose Mary (Ziehr) Duhansky and Frederick J. Ziehr. Maxine is survived by her three children, Matthew Francis (Suzanne) Purol, Monica Louise (Paul) Cannaley, and Evelyn Rose (Bill) Ryberg; 4 grandchildren, Chris (Laurette) Cannaley, Cameron Cannaley, Michael (Amy) Purol and Cassie (Mike) Noone; and 5 great-grandchildren, Cierra Dawn Cannaley, Christopher Bentham Paul Cannaley, Shannon Bella Noone, Josephine Lynn Purol and Finnan Arthur Noone. Maxine will be laid to rest following a small memorial service on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Special Olympics Hamilton County Indiana.
