Melda M. Goodman

Melda May Goodman, 92, of Worthington Indiana, passed away on December 31, 2021, in Noblesville, Indiana. Melda was born in Greene County of Indiana to Halsa and Edward Willey on 5/5/1929 and attended school in Worthington.

After high school, she married Richard (Tom) Goodman on 5/25/1947. She graduated from Apex cosmetology school in Anderson, Indiana. Her primary job roles included owning a home- based hair salon in Anderson, manager for LS Ayres hair salons, and legal secretary for David E. Alger, Attorney at Law (25 years).

She enjoyed working, being with people, and worked until she was 85 years old. Melda enjoyed many activities such a volunteering at church, camping with family, styling hair, interior design, floral arrangement, cooking, sewing, and playing her Lowrey organ.

Melda had a servant heart and frequently helped others in need. Her smile, optimism, and quit wit created much joy for others.

Melda is preceded in death by her mother, Halsa Stahl; father, Edward Willey; stepfather, Albert Stahl; five siblings, Ayna Tilford, Jeanne Spencer, Carroll Willey, Beaman Willey, and Jane Hastings.

Melda is survived by her children, LeAnn Jones, Tommy Goodman, Lynnett Doyle; grandchildren, Andrew Alger, Kathryn Pearson, Cara Hays, Julia Freeze, Benjamin Goodman, Elvira Goodman; great-grandchildren, Anna Pearson, Ella Pearson, Rowyn Alger, Olivia Alger, Claire Freeze, Elliot Freeze.

A celebration of life/visitation for Melda will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at White River Christian Church, 1685 N 10th St. Noblesville, IN., followed by a memorial service from 2:00PM to 3:00PM.
