Melisia Moore, a radiant and beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend, was born April 21, 1954, in Vicksburg Mississippi, to the late parents of Roosevelt Bailey and Pearline Hollins. She transitioned from her earthly home into her eternal heavenly home the morning of April 26,2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Melisia was one of 14 children. She received her education in the Vicksburg Public School System. She worked as a retail clerk for over 30 years, becoming a friendly familiar face to the Eastside of Indianapolis.
Melisia had an extraordinary gift for photography, and took pride in taking photos, while boosting one’s self esteem and having fun while doing it. She also had a green thumb and loved caring for living plants and gardening. Melisia loved music and dancing. She spent a lot of time with her nieces and nephews. She had many friends. Some were in nursing homes and shut in, not able to get around. Melisia would pick these individuals up, take them out, and spend time with them as if they were her own family members. The neighborhood children would even stop by to visit with her. She knew no stranger, and everyone that encountered her loved her. Melisia was the glue to her family always making sure everyone was okay. Whenever she was needed, she was there. Whether it be a comforting text or words of advice, she’d know exactly what to say, and encourage you to “make the most of your day.” She was a free-spirited, highly vibrational loving individual.
