I’ve met Mike back in 2013 when I first participated in the US Scale Aerobatics NATs.
Came all the way from Israel to learn how to really fly these big birds.
Before the contest, I made a flight and asked Mike when landed, what does he think?
And it was “we have a lot to teach you”.
And so he did.
Since then, we’ve met several times when I came to the USA to fly with my IMAC family.
Mike took me under the IMAC umbrella to be part of the BoD and since then we had a lot of good memories.
He awarded me the IMAC president Award and this will be one of many good memories we share.
Thank you Mike, for everything, may you Rest In Peace dear friend.

O NO !! So, so sorry to hear Mike has passed away. Sending prayers out to Matt & the rest of the family. Have known Mike since he was a kid. He was the same age as my son, who bowled with Greg, & maybe Mike & Matt also. Margie bowled on my team for years & years, she also made most of our bowling outfits. Bud was our team picture & video man. Being good friends with Bud & Margie for so many years I was able to see Mike & his brothers go from kids to grown men. To learn another member of a family I enjoyed so much has passed away is sad in deed. RIP Mike, you'll certainly be missed by those that loved & cared about you so much .

I met Mike through IMAC or Scale Aerobatics. Within IMAC he was a giant and a leader and one who "Showed me the Ropes" if you will. Yet I do not think I learned 1/10th of what he knew. Mike had such a gentle side to him that many did not see and they missed much not having seen it about him. It was not Mike being un-social but simply a bit shy. He had a sense of humor that could make a group of people belly laugh until it hurt. Michael Karnes may you Rest in Peace my my friend! You will be missed but you will never be forgotten.

Mike and I meet several years ago when I purchased a plane from him for my son, and little did he know at the time that my son would start flying against him and that was the beginning of a very good friendship,
Fly high my friend ! You will be missed.
