Michael Timothy Niehus, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away February 22, 2025. Michael was born March 30, 1949 in Indianapolis to Roy and Nora (Reilly) Niehus. Michael graduated from Cathedral High School in 1967. After high school, he graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Michael was an independent rep for Birch, WR Meadows and Vestal.
Michael was an avid golfer. He was proud to have caddied in the 1976 LA Open for George Archer. Michael was also an avid Indy race fan, he lived for the month of May. He also enjoyed college football, especially Notre Dame football. Michael had a dry sense of humor and he was always the life of the party.
Michael is survived by his wife, Cindy Niehus; children, Kathryn “Katie” Martin, Kevin Timothy Niehus, Stacy Smith and Andy Passwater; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brady, Dylan, Cora and Sawyer; siblings, Mary Ann McGarry, Jim (Patty) Niehus, Kevin (Chris) Niehus and Margaret “Maggie” Coker, Linda (Mike) Farris, Terry (Liz) Bordenet, Danny (Christine) Bordenet, Jenny (Paul Madden) Matthews and Marsha (Mike) Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andrew Niehus; and siblings, Billy, Jack, Susie and Kathleen.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Feeney Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3354 W. 30th Street, Indianapolis IN 46222. Michael will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis.
