Was lucky enough to get to visit with Mike about a month ago to today. He came to Sunnyside to visit and he shared with me his diagnosis. We talked for about an hour. So glad I got this time with him.
Mike was such a kind man and a hard worker, and I am so thankful that I got to work with him here at Sunnyside for 10 years.
He dearly loved his family and spoke of them often, and he would talk of his grandkids and he would light up, he even spoke about his grand dog. He had a soft spot for animals. I remember him many times out in the courtyards helping me catch trapped baby ducks so we could release them.
Mike you will be missed dearly, and I`m so sorry to you Jan and family for your loss.

Randi & Family,

Sending you lots of love and my sincerest condolences. Although I never had the privilege of meeting your dad, it was clear that this was a man who fiercely loved his family and in return, was loved and cherished by all of you.

Thinking of you.

Mike and I grew up across the alley from each other in Griffith ,we went to church together and family outings-his mom would drive us to great oaks country club because my mom didn’t drive. I smoked my first cigarette with Mike , a camel non-filter he took from his dad- we felt like John Wayne. I stood up in his wedding to wonderful Jan - we both married women who had daughters, ready made families ,who would have thought. I lost touch with him for several years ,9 yrs ago called to tell him I was moving to Indy .first thing he said was I’ll be there to help. Mike was a good ,hard working man who loved and took care of his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Thank you Mike for being you ,such a good guy. Curt and Debbie Smith

I worked with Mike at Sunnyside for about 6 years. He always worked hard and would give me a “How’s it going?” as he walked through my gym to get started on his day. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to your family.
