A life full of passion and love, Michele Joan Bates died on Saturday May 30. Michele age 60 was born July 4, 1959 in Indianapolis to Leonard and Joan Kennedy Bates. She was a beloved daughter, sister and aunt. Michele was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was active in Nobles Industries and Nobel East where she created unique pieces of art that was enjoyed by all. She appreciated the simple things in life, 70's TV shows, horses, basketball. Her family was her heart and soul and a great source of Love and Joy. She participated in the Special Olympics' and the "FunTastics". Michele is survived by her sister Mary Anne ( Stephen) McCaslin, brother Christopher (Susie) Bates and nieces and nephews Caitlyn (Matt) Hoopingarner, Brianna McCaslin, Ian (Alice) McCaslin, Colin (Haylee) McCaslin and Delaney McCaslin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 5 at 1 pm at St. Philip Neri Grade School Gym. Visitation will be Friday at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary from 10 am - 12:15 pm with prayers at 12:15 pm. Social distancing, masks, and a 50 person will be practiced . Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Michele's name may be made to St Philip Neri Catholic Church or Special Olympics Indiana.
