Michelle Y. Begley

Michelle was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to George and Patricia Tarter on July 18, 1971. She attended George Washington High School and later graduated from Indiana Business College. On August 7, 2004, she married the love of her life, Joey Begley, at Morning Star Chapel in Plainfield, Indiana. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with family, love, laughter, and countless memories. Michelle was also a proud business owner at Begley Masonry, where she worked alongside her husband.

To know Michelle was to know someone who loved deeply and gave freely. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a heart that was always open and a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. Michelle knew no stranger. Whether she had known you for years or had just met you, she had a way of making you feel like family.

Above all else, Michelle was incredibly proud of her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She was the kind of mom who was always there, always willing to help, and always putting the people she loved before herself. As a grandmother, she was loving, playful, and completely devoted. She treasured taking her grandchildren on adventures, making memories with them, and watching them grow. Her grandchildren brought an indescribable happiness to her life, and she was so proud to be their grandma.

Michelle and Joey shared a special love and partnership. They loved spending time together, traveling, vacationing with family, and simply enjoying life side by side. Michelle loved being outdoors and making memories. She enjoyed golfing, kayaking, taking her grandchildren out for fun, and finding any excuse to spend time with the people she loved most.

She had a gift for bringing people together. Her home and her heart were always open, and she made family and friends feel loved, accepted, and cared for. Michelle was full of life, warmth, and generosity. She loved to laugh, loved to have fun, and never took for granted the time she had with the people around her.

Michelle leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on through her family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will continue in every family gathering, every vacation, every round of golf, every adventure, and in the countless stories that will be told about her for generations to come.

Michelle is preceded in death by her parents, George and Patricia Tarter, and her brother, Eric Tarter.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joey Begley; daughter, Mariah Begley; son, Joseph Begley; daughter-in-law, Kaitlin Begley; brothers, Steven Tarter & Michelle Yates Tarter (sister-in-law) and Brian Tarter; and her cherished grandchildren, Koda Graff, Carson Begley, and Lily Begley.

Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46208, on August 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
