Millie Turner, age 92, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Millie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born March 8, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Roy Braum and Carrie (Schumaker) Wintz. Millie is also preceded in death by her husband, George Turner; son, Stephen Turner; and grandchild, Joseph "Joey" Turner. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was proud to earn her high school diploma from Howe later in life while raising 8 children. Millie retired as a school bus driver in 1997. She loved driving the kids, first for the Holy Spirit bus and later the special needs bus for Warren Central. She was also dedicated to the elderly and would help everyone she could, especially ensuring they had meals. She was a special lady, and a wonderful mother and grandmama.
Millie is survived by her children, Rose Turner, Ric Turner (Donna), Anne Massing (Leo), Tim Turner (Fran), Dave Turner (Laura), Mary Moore (Chuck), and Brett Turner (Lisa); 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E 10th St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219 with burial to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
