

Miniya Dezoray Gwendolyn Hamilton, age 22 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 at home. Miniya was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Monika Hamilton and Ray Jones on August 14, 1999. She attended Ben Davis High School for two years and completed her high school education online through the American Academy, Graduation Alliance, Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a member of Light of the World Christian Church and was active in the Youth Ministry. She participated in various sports activities during middle school and high school. Miniya began drawing, painting and sketching at a very young age and continued to hone her skills along the way. She aspired to become and Artist and wished to work in the advertising business. Her favorite kind of art was drawing and sketching caricatures. She loved poetry and performed "Spoken Words". She loved to dance. She was funny, genuine, kind and loving. Miniya is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Cleveland and Velma Broome; an uncle, Thomas Broome; great grandmother, Ruby Hamilton and aunt, Crystal Jones. She is survived by her Father, Ray Jones (Terrann); Mother, Monika Hamilton; Grandparents, Harold and Gwendolyn Hamilton, David Allen and Erdell Jones. She has five sisters and three brothers; McKenzie Hamilton, Shanya Jones, Daeliciah Gilder, Talaysia Gillespie, Kumani Jones, TaShi Liggins, Tracy Smith and Malique Jones and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A gathering of family and friends for Miniya will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Following the gathering of family and friends will be a celebration of life funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
