Mona Jean Trevey was born on September 29, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana to James Trevey and Ellen (Rosalie) Woodrum/Trevey. She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Roger) Heise, Linda Lowman, and son, Doug (Kristie) Lowman, and grandchildren, Spencer (Marissa) Heise, Grace Heise, Lindsay Lowman, Kyle (Riana) Lowman, and Jacob Lowman. Not only was she a devoted mother and grandmother, she was a wonderful sister to her brother, Mike, who had special needs and passed away two years ago.
Mona loved working at the Brickyard Crossing Hotel for many years and watching Colts and Notre Dame football games and the Indianapolis 500. The simple things in life such as cooking, eating out, playing with her cat, attending exercise classes, watching “Blue Bloods,” “Chicago Fire,” “This is Us,” and “Good Bones,” and talking with her children, grandchildren, and friends on the phone gave her much pleasure.
Happy memories for Mona included taking several trips. She visited New York City on several occasions and saw many Broadway plays along with witnessing her grandchildren sing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. When Mona lived in Florida for a few years, her children and grandchildren visited her frequently and accompanied her to Disney World. Mona traveled to San Francisco to watch her daughter run a marathon. She also enjoyed a trip taken with her other daughter’s family to Hilton Head Island.
Mona’s family will remember her as a great listener, a hard worker, and a grateful person who was never demanding. She will be greatly missed!
