He was employed at Chrysler Corp. for forty years.
He was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School, playing basketball, football, and track where he held the shot -put record in 1958. He attended Tennessee State University on a football scholarship, and was the Co-Captain and starter for three years. He also played for the semi-pro team the Indianapolis Capitols, which was part of the Continental Football league.
Survivors: mother; Roger Lee Williams, wife; Linda Barbee, sons; Christopher S. (Kim) Barbee, Anthony M. (Holly) Barbee, and Jason D. Barbee. Grandchildren; Kellan, Nicholas, Hayden, and Andrew Barbee.
Services: March 4, 2009 at 1:00p.m. at Crown Hill Funeral Home with visitation prior to service at 11:30a.m. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
