James L. R. Belcher 76, of Brownsville Texas formerly of Indianapolis died October 22, 2009. James was born in Indianapolis, Indiana February 13, 1933 the son of James A. and Mattie E. (Cox) Belcher. He was the retired co-owner of Bel-Mor Beauty Salon in Columbus, Indiana after 15 years and 30 years in Brownsville, Texas in the field of cosmetology. James was a decorated combat veteran of the U. S. Navy in the Korean War. James is survived by his mother Mattie E. Belcher, his life partner Phillip L. L. Morris, three brothers A. Eugene, Ronald E., and Floyd E. Belcher. His father and two sisters Betty D. Gonzales and Dorothy M. Jones preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Peace Chapel of the Community Mausoleum of Crown Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Crown Hill Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 PM Wednesday.
