John Albert Crabtree, Sr. 76, of Indianapolis, passed away August 1, 2009. John was born in Morgantown, KY on March 13, 1933, the son of the late Henry B. and Grace (Rose) Crabtree. He moved to Louisville in 1942 and then to Indianapolis in 1961. He retired from Naval Avionics. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, Mystic Circle Masonic Lodge #685 and Lawrence Chapter #384 Order of Eastern Star. John is survived by his wife of 55 years Mary (Green) Crabtree, two sons John A. Crabtree, Jr.(Vicki) and Jeffrey A. Crabtree, (Patti) a brother, David Crabtree and six grandchildren Amy (Patrick), Jonathan, Jordan, Hollyn, Tyler, and Trent and two great-grandchildren Dylan and Selah . Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 5, 2009 at 11:00 am in Crown Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 pm. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church.
