John departed this life on April 12, 2010. He was a cement mason for over 50 years and belonged to Local Union 692. He loved to play cards, bowl and never met a stranger. He was a wonderful father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva, two sons Ronnie (Margaret), Christopher, one daughter Kimberly, sisters Bettie Fitts (Lawrence), Florine Elder, sister in law Ethel Elder, four grandchildren, Serena Miller, Candice Wells, Deon Avery and Dwayne Forby, three great-grandchildren, two great aunts, Frankie Mason, Willie Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Elder, Charles Elder and three sisters Helen Ricks, Juanita Elder, and Gladys Johnson.
