

Mr. Donald Shack, Sr. 74 Of Kokomo Passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009, 11:40 A.M. at Howard Regional Health Systems. Donald Shack, Sr. was born on February 4, 1935 the son of Ben Shelby and Roberta Shack in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a metallurgical engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft a division of United Technologies. He was a United States Airforce Veteran. He was a member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he served in the Mens Choir, Director of the Indiana Conference Lay Males Chorus and a former Trustee. He also was a Board Member of the Senior Citizens Center (Superior Street) and member of the Joyful Sounds. He was an avid golfer and pool player. His parents and one grandson, Jeremiah Staple preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Deloris Shack, daughters, Dena Shack, Christina N. Shack (Daniel Rogers), sons, Brandy P. Staple (Christy) of Duluth, Georgia, Donald Shack, II (Christina Carpenter), Eric C. Shack, sister, Norma Jean Willis of Detroit, Michigan, brothers, Paul Gadson (Nina), and James Thomas Gadson both of Detroit, Michigan, seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2009, 10 A.M. at Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Pastor Louis Parham will be the officiant and Dr. Michael Carson will be the eulogist. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the church.
