Mr. Robert Leroy Taylor On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, God added another courageous soldier, Robert Leroy Taylor, to his army. Robert was born on April 25, 1961 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was the youngest of six children. Robert attended Hollywood Heights Presbyterian Church at an early age and currently attended Mt. Carmel Church. He was a 1979 graduate of Huntington High School where he played for the Raiders’ football team. Robert was employed by Roche for over 15 years. Robert was a sports enthusiast. However, football was unarguably his favorite sport. As a result, he would often engage in long conversations with his brother- in-laws and friends about football. Moreover, Robert had a magnetic personality; he never met a stranger. Whenever Robert was around, joy and laughter were present. Robert genuinely loved people, and he enjoyed life in and of itself. Robert possessed a very calm demeanor; he was not contentious, and he did not sow discord. Robert was a man of peace who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings unconditionally. Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, Henry Wallace and Vesper Shelton-Taylor, and sister Roselynn “Recie” Renae Taylor-Williams. Beautiful memories of Robert will forever be cherished by his devoted spouse Sandra Taylor, who never left her husband’s side during the seven months that he was hospitalized, his daughters, Tamika, Candiss, Sharon, and Ashley; brother Henry Taylor, Jr. (Shreveport, Louisiana), sisters, Terri Henderson (Isaac) (Atlanta, Georgia), Charlene Taylor-Tignor (Jonesboro, Georgia), and Phylliss Henry (Michael) (Duncanville, Texas); maternal aunt, Verline Mallory (Compton, California), paternal aunts, Beulah Brown and Joanne Smith (Bay City, Texas), eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
