Seldom has there been a more beautiful soul to grace this earth than Resenda Moreno Burnett, known for always having a kind and positive spirit.
Resenda, also known as Cindy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 29, 1955, to Lonnie Dodson Jr. and Loretta Dodson. She was the second child of her mother, growing up with her seven siblings whom she loved dearly.
As a child, Resenda received her elementary education in the Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. She also attended Indiana Business College.
In 1967, at the age of twelve, Resenda met a thirteen year old boy named Lloyd Burnett, who she loved and would later join in Holy matrimony. They were blessed with two children, and their love and union endured for over 49 years (married 41 years) until her passing. Resenda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lloyd always knew God had placed the most loving, caring, and devoted woman in his life, and that he was an exceptionally Blessed man to have shared her life.
Resenda was employed at RCA as a manufacturing assembly worker until its plant closed. She then worked several office positions for Indianapolis businesses before her illness with multiple sclerosis enabled her.
Resenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She served in the choir ministry at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church. She LOVED listening and singing to music. One would hear her singing her favorite songs when coming to visit her throughout her lengthy illness with multiple sclerosis, which spanned for more than half of her life.
But GOD, in His Infinite Love, Mercy, Grace, and Wisdom loved her most of all, as He called her to her eternal home on January 2, 2017.
Resenda will be greatly missed, but always remembered and loved dearly in the hearts of her loving and devoted husband, Lloyd Burnett; children: Talena Sutherlin (La Rue) and Damon Burnett; parents: Lonnie Dodson Jr., and Loretta Dodson; sisters: Nina White, Giana Dodson, Taria Dodson (Raymond), Vianda Tinker (Larry), Marta Frazier (Tracy), Eleana Gbadamassi (Moukaila), Marquita Twyman (Larry), and brother, Darren Dodson (Judy). Five grandchildren: Talisha Parker (Issa), Taj Woods-Sutherlin (Resha), Kelvin Keene Jr., Damon Burnett Jr., Davon Burnett, and Diamon Burnett; and two great-granddaughters, Isla Parker and Samaya Woods-Sutherlin; and a host of extended family and friends.
