

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband of 57 years Richard (Dick), son, Daniel, daughter, Carrie Brownfield and granddaughters Alexa and Alana Brownfield. She will join her beloved uncle, William Matthews who preceded her in death.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Shortridge High School. She spent 18 years working in Special Education as a teaching assistant for the Indianapolis Public Schools. She was very devoted in her work with these special kids.
Her life centered around her family, and she enjoyed participating as Cub Scout Den Mother for her son, as well as a Camp Fire Girl Leader for her daughter. She loved her granddaughters dearly and spent many days traveling with them and sharing her life with them. She enjoyed traveling with her husband exploring the United States.
Her memorial service will be at the Crown Hill Funeral Home at 7:30 pm on Thursday May 29, 2008. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until service time.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Betty. Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the personnel at St Vincent Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit and Seton Specialty Hospital.
