Mrs. Evelyn Luvenia Mayes 81 of Indianapolis passed away Friday, April 19, 2013. She was a faithful 50 year member of Eastside Baptist Church where she served as a member on the Nurses Board, sang in the Choir, Pastors Aide and Bereavement Ministries. She was employed by Western Electric before her retirement. She was preceded in death by beloved husband of fifty years Walter G. Mayes, Sr.; sisters Laura Few; Mary Ellen Jolly; Gloria Owens; brothers, Howard Wynn and Asa Wynn. Mrs. Mayes leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Nellie W. Dumas and Wilhelmina(Robert)Willis nephew, James Moore; step daughter, Denise Mayes; step sons, Walter George Mayes, Jr.(Francine); Phillip A. Mayes(Frances) and Dennis R. Mayes, Sr., a host of grandchildren, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 12:00 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church 2845 North Baltimore Ave. with calling from 10:00 a.m. to service. Entombment Crown Hill Cemetery.
