

She was educated in Arcola, Mississippi and later moved and settled in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Rosie Lee had a kind heart that was easily moved to give to those in need and when she was younger she loved to listen to the blues. She had a fondness for children, cooking and eating a good home cooked meal. She was blessed with a keen sense of humor and a warm smile that showed her concern for others. Her interests also included studying the Bible. Rosie Lee was never too busy to talk about God's word. And she would welcome many to her home to chat a bit about the Bible.
She was employed at Mechanics Laundry. And, because of her fearlessness in speaking up for herself, she was moved to do so for others. She helped many to receive fairness in the workplace. This led to her being elected to the position of Union Board Member and later, President of AFL CIO local 3017, which positioin she served in until she retired.
Rosie Lee departed on Saturday, November 19, 2011. She was a preceded in death by her husband, Albert Roosevelt Flood and by 3 sisters: Willie Ann Jackson, Ruth Jackson Phinisee, & Mary Sharpe. She is survived by three sisters: Bessie McCadney, Everline Casey and Margaret Adeniyi. she is survived by her sons: Kenneth Flood with Phunnee Flood & Kim Flood; Christopher Flood & Terry Flood. She and her husband also parented Lisa, Donna, & Andrice Tucker, Keith & Kenneth Winston, and Timothy Harris along with Patricia Harris. And as a result they became grandparents to over 24 and great-grandparents to 13. She has left many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
