Mrs Katherine Jerdina Grimes

Mrs. Katherine Jerdina Grimes 83 of Indianapolis, Passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was bornn on Nov. 19, 1928 to the late William M. and Clara E. Hanna. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School and attended nursing school to become a LPN. Grandma Grimes loved children, which led her to her 35 year career in neonatal unit at Wishard Memorial Hospital. Katherine was a spritual woman; she accepted Christ at a young age. She loved fashion and had a collection of hats and purses. Katherine lived a full and complete life centered around her family.There was nothing that gave her greater joy then spending time with her love ones, Katherine was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves many to cherish her wisdom, love and memory including her six children, Donna M. (Alonzo), Garry K., Larry J., James E. (Kirsten), Kenneth R. and Cheryl D., 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren plus a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 12:00 p.m. at New Zion Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church 2602 North LaSalle with visitation from 10:00 a.m. Burial New Crown Cemetery.
