Mary Lou Porter McGill 96, of Indianapolis, passed away at St. Vincent Hospice on August 3, 2008. She was born May 11, 1912 in Adams, TN. Mary was a long time member of St. Paul Baptist Church and later, Northwest Assembly of God. Mary was a devout Christian whose greatest desire was to be baptized in the Jordan River. She fulfilled her dream in November, 1996 at the age of 84. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Porter Davis; sister-in-law, Leatha (Jimmy) Porter; granddaughters, Vanessa (Robert) Davis Ware, Natalie (Gregory) Davis Miller; great grandchildren, Nathan Davis, Lawrence (Tonia) Davis, Karis (Joseph) Davis Brantley, Bryan Tenner, Taylor Miller, Sydney Miller; and great-great grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Natalee Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ester and Callie Porter; her husband, Lawrence McGill; five brothers and three sisters; and one grandson, Aubrey R. Davis. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 8, 2008 at 1 p.m. in Crown Hill Funeral Home Chapel with a memorial calling from 11:30 a.m. Arrangements: Crown Hill Funeral Home.
