
86, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2010, after a long battle with a chronic lung disease. Born April 8, 1924 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of William Newton Harding, Jr. and Rosma Ryan Harding. She was married to John Joseph Sarsfield, Jr. for 32 years, who preceded her in death.
Betsy attended Tudor Hall and graduated from Shortridge High School. She attended Indiana University. After college, she worked for P.R. Mallory in Personnel until she was married in 1955. Betsy stayed home to raise her daughters while also helping her husband with his new business. She was a member of Alpha Pi sorority, a Docent with the Indianapolis Museum of Art and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, where she served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Betsy voluteered her time to numerous organizations and charities. She was a Pink Lady for Community Hospital, Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts of America, Chairperson for the Hamilton County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, volunteered at the Indianapolis Museum of Art gift shop, and volunteered at the Catholic Crisis Center of Indianapolis.
Betsy worked as a Real Estate Agent with AHM Graves, Prudential, and Carpenter, retiring in 2000. Aside from her volunteer work, Betsy's favorited hobbies were bowling, golf, and playing bridge. Travelling was also one of her passions. She was fortunate to see many parts of the world.
Surviving are daughters, Catherine S. Denton, Mary S. Town, and Anne S. Hoth; and 7 grandchildren, Heather, John, Caity, Carli, Lexi, Nick, and Ryleigh.
