Nancy Minette Smith

Nancy Minette Smith, age 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. She was born May 18, 1930 in La Grange Park, Illinois to the late James and Esther Patterson. Nancy grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She attended and graduated Lombard High School. Nancy married James (Jim) in 1950 in Indianapolis, and went on to have four children. Nancy served in several administration roles, the latest of which was legal secretary for the law firm of Brennan, Curtis & Brennan, from which she retired. Nancy enjoyed playing piano, quilting, cross stitch, and other creative pursuits. In retirement, she and Jim enjoyed travelling, bowling leagues, spending time with family, and volunteer work. Nancy was a member of LifePoint Church for many years and served in several ministries. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Smith; and two brothers. She is survived by her children, Michael (Susan) Smith, Kathryn Cartheuser, Susan (Charles) Madden, and Linda (Jesse) Speight; sister, Viola Hill; grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda) Cartheuser, Kristin (Nathan) Bingham, Aaron Bledsoe, Michael (Amber) George, Ryan George, and Charles (Shannon) Madden III; great-grandchildren, Jackson Cartheuser, Theodore Bingham, Leah Cartheuser, Cordelia Bingham, Avery Madden, and Charles Madden IV. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 PM at LifePoint Church, 8540 Combs Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifePoint Church.
