Dearest Basore Family,
I have been trying to find Norma for the last few years.  She sent me a wonderful packet from Crestwood Village and my letters to her were returned. 
I worked with her at Gillespie Florist 37 years ago at one of the toughest times in my life.  I was single and pregnant and she and Ralph took me under their wings and treated me like a daughter.  Ralph made my daughter a cradle, which she has in her children's room now.  There are many items around my home  and my daughters from her signed "with Love, Grammie & Grampie Sugar."  
We did "Junkin" together, shared so many jokes and just laughed about life.  She filled the world with love and caring even if just sharing Ralph's famous Bean Sandwich.  She was a genuine soul that enriched and influenced who I am today and how I interact with my girls and grandchildren.   We had stayed in touch all these years, I missed her the last two when I could not find her. 
She was passionately in love with her whole family and spoke of all of you all the time.  I know she is happy to be reunited with Ralph, the love of her life!
She had sent me the eulogy and letters read from Ralph's funeral and I wept reading about a life well lived and loved. 
I am a better person for having known and shared time with her.

Hello Norma Basore Family.  Your mother was the most precious woman.  I worked with her at Grande Flower shop in 1984 thru 1985.  We fortunately kept in touch over the years.  I actually visited with her and Ralph in Plainfield, I believe maybe four or five years ago.  We were pen pals and would write back and forth on birthdays and holidays.  She and John Solomon came up to my flower shop in West Lafayette IN in 2005,  I believe and saw it.  We have always been in touch over the years. 
 Her last correspondence with me was a large manila envelope and lots of questions and concerns about the family art (Laurie?) at the Veterans Home in West Lafayette.  I did not understand what she wanted me to do, but I was willing to do whatever she wanted.  I wrote to her, and asked her what she wanted but did not hear back from her.  This past year I received her birthday card back and the Christmas card back.  When I called the facility, they would not tell me anything about her, so I hit a dead end...BUT, saying all of that...then I stumbled upon this obituary.
 I adored your mother.  She had a heart of gold, a cute smile and laugh, and had the most wonderful sense of humor.  Her sense of style and decorating was eclectic and I was crazy about it.  I will miss her little cards and notes.  I know she loved all of you, and would talk about all of you all the time.  Her brother in Arizona also.  Peace be with you.
