

Norma A. Sarver was born January 25, 1937, to the late Florence and Maxie Mahone, in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the young age of two-years-old, her mother Florence passed away, and her father Maxie remarried Thelma Mahone, who affectionately called her “Tick”, and became her loving mother.
Norma was united in holy matrimony on May 22, 2010, to William (Bill) Sarver, no children were born to this union.
Norma confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Spiritual Awakening Tabernacle Church. She served as the youth Sunday School teacher and loved singing in the church choir.
Norma attended IPS Elementary and Crispus Attucks High School. She worked at the Army/Defense Finance Center as a Civil Service employee. Norma was a loyal worker who loved her job, and after 35 years of service she retired in February 1992.
She loved bowling and bowled in a league, singing in the church choir and was affectionately loved by all who knew her. Family was everything to Norma and she loved bringing them together for dinner and playing games with special surprises.
Mrs. Norma A. Sarver departed this life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence, Maxie and Thelma Mahone; four sisters: Dorothy, Laura, Annetta (Freda) and Margaret; four brothers: LoMax, Jack, Benny and George (Mickey).
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband William L. Sarver, a daughter Deborah Heeter Strange (Albert); sons Kevin Heeter (Carlene), Eric Heeter (Marva) and Samuel Elliott (Lisa), bonus children Velitia Gaines (Terrence) and William A. Sarver (Rita), godchildren; one sister Elsie Cazares and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Norma will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
