

Ora Lee Jane (Parson) Smith, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 6, 2024. Ora Lee was born December 20, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of Marshall Leonard and Harriett Jane (Lackey) Parson. She was in customer service throughout the years in warehousing and retail.
Ora Lee was a life long member of Boy Scouts Troop 132, Pack 132. She enjoyed going to the Indianapolis Speedrome on Saturday evenings. She loved watching NASCAR on Sundays. She loved her dogs and all of the animals she had over the years. She enjoyed watching Young & The Restless everyday. She loved spending as much time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as much as possible. Ora Lee never knew a stranger and took care of many friends and families in her life time. She was truly loved by all who knew her.
Ora Lee is survived by: children; Alicia Watts, Brenda Statzer, Billy Statzer, Annette Cooley, Candy Smith and David Smith, grandchildren; Craig (Stephanie) Tussey, Viola Burchfield, Kristen (Edmond) Brown, Anthony Statzer, Danny Statzer and Jackie Statzer, 17 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Leonard Smith, father; Marshall Parson, mother; Harriett Parson, sons; Fairley (Bub) Statzer and Marcus Parson, grandchildren; Brandon Statzer, Joseph Kline and Jacob Smith, brothers; Paul Parson, Leonard Parson, sisters; Madge Hamilton, Mary Hill, and Marsha Gladue.
Services will be held September 13, 2024 at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46224. Visitation for family and friends 10am-2pm, service at 2pm, burial to follow immediately after service at Floral Park Cemetery.
