Pastor Steve Scott, Jr.

Pastor Steve Scott, Jr., 81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, quietly departed this life on April 13, 2018 in Indianapolis.Steve served as a faithful Deacon in All Nations Church of Newburgh, New York. He was called into the ministry to preach the Gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ in 1990. He continued faithful service to All Nations Church until 1999 when he was led by the Lord to begin his own church., Uplifting Spirit Church in Christ, Inc. He and his wife founded and pastored Uplifting Spirit Church in Christ, Inc. in Newburgh, New York until 2004. In 2004, they relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where they continued to pastor. Left to cherish the memories of his legacy are his wife, Betty of Indianapolis; children, Dolores of Indianapolis, IN, Dorothy (Kevins) Jones of Winter Garden, FL, Julia Monk of Indianapolis, IN, Diane (Darryl) Lane of Indianapolis, IN, James (Hilary) Scott of Indianapolis, IN, Sarah (Anthony) Brown of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Margaret Pickney of McClellansville, SC; grandchildren, Jesse, Deanita, Julius, Jermaine, Diana, James II, Tyrone, Danielle, Jhedelle, D'Myia, Bernadette, Lisa, DaVonte, Quate and Damarius; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Nasier, Justis, Jasmine, Jordan, Tori, Amare, Dimani, Leila, Jillian, Nalani and Disaya; cousins, Walter Robinson and Evelyn Robinson; and a host of other extended relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Uplifting Spirit Church in Christ, 4501 N Evanston Ave, with visitation there from 10 am until service time. Interment: Sutherland Park Cemetery.
