She was wise, compassionate, and loved by all who knew her.
She grew up primarily in Portage and Chesterton, Indiana, also spending 25 years with her husband in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a nurse, then worked in corporate offices for medical firms. She tenaciously put herself through nursing school at Purdue while working as a waitress and raising two children. She advanced in the corporate world, sometimes overseeing a support staff. She was determined to succeed in whatever she did, but never losing her humanity and compassion for others. We will miss her humor, her concern for others, her sage advice, and her compassion.
She survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom; her son Scott; her daughter Christine, and five grandchildren.
