66, of Bloomington, Indiana departed this life Sunday, August 13, 2023. Paul was born April 9, 1957, in Charlotte, NC to Paul James and Sharon (Scotty) Bosler. He grew up and attended schools in Indianapolis, was a graduate of Cathedral High School, and then earned a degree from Indiana University.
Paul was a well-respected metal lubrications expert. He worked for his family’s business his entire life, Midstate Chemicals, and served as CEO until it was purchased by Fuchs Lubricants Company in 2008. He continued as a product owner of many developments, a leader, and an innovator in his field. He was also an accomplished writer of technical journals, short stories, and poetry. Paul was a member of the Precision Metal Association and Todd Marine Association.
Though an accomplished businessman, he was so much more. Paul loved making memories with his wife Judi as they sat quietly in their gardens enjoying their home, the trickle of the waterfall, Honeyman and Jagger, and the life they had built. He especially loved spending solitary times with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being with his large family and friends. He was an avid gardener, feeding us all with fresh herbs, tomatoes, and heartfelt meals. Breakfast will not be the same without his perfected eggs, symphony of commotion, and a shout to get the toast. He relaxed tending to his gardens, spoiling his granddaughters, sunset cruises on his boat with a glass of wine (or many), and enjoyed his season tickets to the Indianapolis Colts. He played the Rolling Stones loudly and held a room’s attention with a story.
Paul was a father, husband, and mentor to many. He was the backbone of his family – in all their forms over the years. He was loving, sometimes overbearing, always there for you. He never let the beach ball drop and he took care of all of us.
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Bosler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judi Bosler; devoted children, Peregrine (Matt Abbott) Bosler, Piers Bosler and Anna (Dustin) Newton; his beloved parents, Paul and Sharon Bosler; his darling granddaughters, Esmé Abbott and Jordyn Randolph; his loving siblings, Terry (Mike) Thiesing, Marie (Kevin O’Shaughnessy) Bosler, Jenny (Tim) Redmond, Gina Fontaine, Mike (Nekisha) Bosler, John Bosler, Pat Bosler and Mark Bosler; his beloved dogs, Honeyman and Jagger and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation for Paul will be from 1 – 3 pm on Friday, August 18th at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. A service of remembrance and reception will follow at 3:30 pm at Northside Events- Northside KofC.
