Paul was born on September 20, 1935 in Indianapolis to the late Peter I. Georgescu, Sr. and Francis (Stergar) Georgescu. He and his twin brother Pete attended Little Flower Catholic School and graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School. After high school, Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force National Guard.
In 1961 Paul married Georgiann Laham in Indianapolis. They had two children together and raised their family in Little Flower Parish surrounded by both extended families and many friends. Paul was an active member of the church and would often lend a hand to help maintain the grounds and interior. He participated in the Men’s Club and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fatima Council.
Paul was a life-long salesman and described himself as a manufacturer’s rep. He prided himself on being a self-employed, independent businessman. His gift of problem-solving and communication made him a vital conduit between the creators of goods and services and their end customers. In other words, Paul played an important role in keeping the machines running. He found much success in his career but, most of all he loved his work. Paul started his sales career working for Lynn Solvents and a few other companies. But, eventually he took a leap of faith and started his own company, Georgescu Associates, and never retired.
Paul’s other love was golf. He and his golfing buddies were up at dawn on the weekends to get the first tee times. Besides hitting thousands of golf balls, playing every golf course in Indianapolis and surrounding counties, Paul was able to boast two hole in ones.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Georgie (Laham) Georgescu, son Paul Francis Georgescu, Jr. (Kate Kobza), daughter Ann Marie Georgescu (Jay Polsgrove), grandsons Vincent, Neil and Patrick Georgescu, sister-in-law Ruth Georgescu, nephews Steve and Mark Georgescu and niece Beth Georgescu. He is also survived by many extended family members who he loved and appreciated dearly.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents (father) Peter I. Georgescu, Sr. (mother) Francis (Stergar) Georgescu, (step-mother) Mabel (Crisler) Georgescu and his twin brother Peter (Pete) I. Georgescu, Jr.
