Paul T Smith Jr.

Paul Thomas Smith Jr. was born July 5, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Paul Smith Sr., and Elinor Brock. Paul was a devoted son, stepson, brother, dad, uncle, and friend. He was the proud father of Dr. Craig Smith (Odetta) and Ariane Stallard. He received his education in the Indianapolis Public School System, graduating from Arsenal Technical High School.

Paul loved his country and served as a member of the army, where he learned to parachute and became invaluable to his unit. He worked at Western Electric for twenty years before he returned to his passion for justice and the law and went on to become a Marion County Sheriff Duty and off-duty police officer. Paul continued his service to the community as a Precinct Committeeman, Lions Club leader, and HOA President.

When Paul met Patricia Ann Holiman, it was love at first sight. They were united in holy matrimony on September 17, 1966. Paul also loved connecting with others. He had a route of people he saw daily to encourage, mentor, and share a meal. Paul departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the age of 80 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Truemack Smith, and loving wife, Patricia Holiman Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Dr. Craig Lamont Smith (Odetta); daughter, Ariane Krista Stallard; all of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a host of other family members and friend.
