Pauline Holder

She attended Union High School where she graduated in 1952. On October 17, 1953, Pauline married Robert “Bobby” Holder and to that union, five children were born.

Pauline and Bobby moved to Indianapolis, IN in August of 1953. There, Pauline professed a love for Christ and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Pauline worked as a domestic until retiring in 2019. In her leisure time, Pauline enjoyed working puzzles, solving word searches and watching her favorite shows on TV.

Carolyn was mama’s own personal hospice caretaker - working, loving, supporting and caring for her until the end of her journey. Tired but never resting, discouraged at times but never giving up. Loved and appreciated for her selfless sacrifice she was heartbroken when she arrived at that fork in the road where Mama’s journey had to continue without her. And continue it did.

On Monday, August 4, 2024 when God said “Well done, I’ll take it from here.” Reluctantly released into His loving arms with her daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren at her bedside, mama let go and let God’s will be done.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Holder; son, Robert W. “Shanie” Holder; and daughter, Barbara Holder; sisters, Ruth Holder and Earlene Buntin; brothers, John Buntin and William “Paul” Buntin.

Leaving to cherish her memory; sister, Addie Brewer; daughters, Linda Clemons, Jeanne (Ron) Johnson and Carolyn (Calvin) Smith; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A visitation for Pauline will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
