Pearl Bernice "Bea" Freeman 79, died August 19, 2008. Pearl graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing. She was employed by the Marion County Health Department as a Nursing Supervisor for twenty years. She was a member of Witherspoon Presbyterian Church. She was a founding member of the Chi Eta Phi (the Eta Chapter) Nursing Sorority. Her research was published in the Journal for Emergency Nursing. She was also a Red Cross Instructor for Nurses Aides. She married her husband on August 25, 1951 in Portland Oregon and they remained happily married until her death. Survivors include her husband John H. Freeman, son John H. Freeman IV, two daughters Brenda Joyce Hickland (Ronald), Jenada I. Taylor, four grandchildren, Ronald Hickland, Jr, Kevin Hickland, Walter Howard, and Wesley Taylor, and three great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday August 23, 2008 at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church at Noon with calling from 10:30 a.m. Entombment Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home.
