Ranae A. Fitzgerald

Ranae A. Fitzgerald, 70, passed away September 5, 2014. She was born on February 9, 1944 to the late Donald and Ruth (Walls) Andrus. Ranae attended Brigham Young University. In July 1966 she met the love of her life and they were married 6 days later.

They moved to Indianapolis and, there, she began her career with Weight Watchers as their Area Manager of America. She was with them for 10 years. Ranae then transitioned into being a receptionist for The Orchard School. She grew to love the atmosphere, colleagues, and students and remained with them for 18 years. Ranae’s other love was photography. Some of her work has graced the Niagara Falls phone book cover as well as Indiana’s DNR magazine.

Ranae is survived by her loving husband James H. Fitzgerald; their children: Christopher Fitzgerald, Carrie Fitzgerald, and Candace Fitzgerald; brother Keven (Pam) Andrus; sister Peggy Williams (Jack); grandson Jon Smith; and her beloved four-legged dogs.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Crown Hill Cemetery’s Gothic Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Orchard School, 615 W. 64th Street, Indianapolis 46260.
