Raul, I will miss you, brother. In a world of me, me, me... you were always generous and selfless. You were loved and one heck of a good human being. Abrazos.

It’s becoming harder to believe you are gone. The only comfort is knowing where you are! Few can say they had a brother, best friend, father, and hero all wrapped up in one person, but I can! As much as this rips my heart out, I know the physical and emotional battles you had to fight daily and how helping others was your way of overcoming it all. But now bro... you are free! No more sickness, no more pain and no more bondage of this life. I’ll try to live on with the motivation you and I being together again in the presence of God! I can’t wait till I see you but I’ll do my best to honor you until God chooses that time!

Thank you from my heart Raul, for guiding me during my tenure in Sally Mae as my supervisor. For introducing me to my dear "Sancocho" music troupe with Iris, Anthony and Andre and their powerful Afro-Latin repertoire. For teaching me about Puerto Rico's beautiful traditions...for being a good friend, ready to help, laugh and enjoy life..."eso es lo que hay" Raul por siempre Dios te bendiga..

To Raul's family and to all who considered him part of their own family, may warm memories of this kind, smiling, man who was so generous with his time and talent, continue beating in your hearts. May the memories be joined with the joyful rhythms he created and participated in, making our world brighter with music and sharing love whenever and wherever he could. I am thankful that I knew him.

Raul often talked about how much he loved his mother. I pray that they meet again with open arms.
