Obituary of Richard F. Hahn
Richard “Dick” Francis Hahn, 86 of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on October 8, 2018. Dick is survived by his children, Jennifer (Garry) Clifton, Elizabeth (Cam) Ellis and Matthew (Aida) Hahn, his brother Leo Hahn, sister Loretta Williams, seven grand-children: Josh and Jonathan Clifton, Alex, Maggie and Ryan Ellis, Eleanor and Francis Hahn and nine nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen, and his brother Donald. Dick was born on May 4th, 1932 and lived his most of his life in his home town of Indianapolis. He was a devoted Catholic as well as loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle & grandfather. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1950 and Butler University in 1954 with an undergraduate degree in history and Indiana University School of Law. He was a practicing attorney for 50 years, retired as a Major from the Air Force and a longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus. He shared a love of traveling the world with his wife but always wanted to come home to his family in Indiana. He will be remembered for his quiet generosity, his strong moral compass firmly grounded in his Catholic faith and dedication to his wife especially as she battled cancer the last 15 years of her life. A special thank you to the caregivers at The Forum at the Crossing in Indianapolis for their loving care and support during his final days. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Monday, October 15th at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis. His mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, October 16th at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis with military honors.
