Mr Richard Anthony Mulcahy
July 9, 1933 – May 23, 2012

Richard Anthony Mulcahy,
78, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. He was born July 9, 1933 in Terre Haute to Bernard Patrick and Johanna Drury (Leland) Mulcahy. He was a proud graduate of Purdue University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. Richard then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan. Richard worked for DuPont Chemical, Sherwin Williams Chemical Division and retired from Applied Engineering in 2008 as a registered Professional Engineer. He was an accomplished photographer, a skilled woodworker and master of the dutch oven on his many camping trips. He was also an active community leader. Richard was best known as a loving father to his children, Maureen (Paul Reichardt) Grant, Kevin (Patty) Mulcahy, Michael (Marian Keith) Mulcahy, Alison (Rick) Melton, Brian (Carol) Mulcahy and Tim (Amy) Mulcahy. He is also survived by his former wife, Maryan; former son-in-law, David (Jean) Grant; sisters, Patricia Kiergan, Aileen (Jim) May and Kathleen Mulcahy; ten grandchildren; five nieces and nephews, and his beloved friend, Barb Hodgett. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Denis Mulcahy. Visitation will be TODAY, Friday, May 25th from 4 – 8 PM in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 26th at 10:00 AM in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Interment follows at Calvary Cemetery.
